 Unable to send PDFs because of missing password parameter

After uploading a PDF to the Connector the application presents the following error:

CRITICAL ERROR: Missing required password parameters

The uploaded PDF is missing a password for some pages, but the document type requires all PDFs to be password-protected.

You won't be able to upload or email documents in this PDF until you fix this issue.

The screen will look similar to:

 Solution

Turn off “Require all PDFs to be password-protected” flag in the Document Type settings.

  1. Go to Settings > Document Types

  2. Select the appropriate document type on the left side

  3. Unselect the “Require all PDFs to be password-protected” flag

  4. Save

  5. Go back to the PDF Mailroom and select the “Open in Workbench” button.

  6. You will now be able to process all documents, even if they don’t have a password set.

Good To Know - you do not need to re-upload the same PDF. You can simply select the “Open in Workbench” button to send or resend documents

IMPORTANT - turning OFF the “Require all PDFs to be password-protected” allows the user to send documents without a password. Please be very careful.
