BambooHR Pro was built to take your processes to the next level with tools that help you invest the most important part of your business which is your people. Pro lets you dive deeper into employee engagement, performance, and experience, and increase retention with real time feedback and to nurture a thriving workplace culture.

New Era of HR

The new platform is all about the people, not the processes. BambooHR’s goal over the past 16 years has been to free HR professionals from the tedium of spreadsheets and manual data entry.

  • Workplace is continually evolving. You need a platform that not only collects data, but also uses AI to help you analyze your data and translates it into actionable insights

  • BambooHR wants to channel all their resources into the new platform, which is why the 185 product updates in 2024 were only available for the new packages

  • Both Core and Pro are designed for today and the future with advanced tools for performance and engagement

Will I lose any features?

  • No, you will not lose any features from your previous subscription, only gain features

  • All customers will be making switch to new plan no later than May 1, so BambooHR does not have to maintain the old system

Performance Management

Performance is what separates Pro from Core. The Pro package includes all the features from the Performance Management Add-on, plus recent updates such as 1:1s, upward feedback, and AI integration. BambooHR offers a 360 degree feedback experience with prebuilt and customizable review cycles, 1:1s, and real time goal tracking.

Performance allows for continuous meaningful dialogue that drives employee growth and engagement.

Review Cycles can be created to suit your needs with no limit to the number of review cycles you can set up

Your cycles can be set up based on fixed date or hire date, and can repeat if needed.

Upward and peer feedback combined give a 360 degree experience.

Goals

is where you set up the ability for employees to track goals.

You can turn on this feature for all employees, or only some employees based on standard filters.

Cascading goals is a new feature that will be released May 2025.

1:1s

allow the manager to set up a recurring 1:1 schedule for each employee that reports to them and create agenda items and take notes.

Ability to view past 1:1s and notes.

Only the option to enable for all employees or none.

BambooHR sends automatic emails reminding managers and employees to complete their assessment and feedback.

Notifications are also found on the BambooHR home screen and in the Inbox on their website app or mobile device.

Employee View of Performance Management

Every employee has their own Performance tab broken down into sub tabs that they are able to view. The tabs visible is determined by the user viewing the information and the access level assigned.

1:1s

Only managers will see the 1:1 tab for for their direct reports, regardless of whether they are an admin user, and this feature is optional once enabled.

Admins viewing as an employee will not see the 1:1 tab.

Fosters meaningful manager employee relationships through regular structured conversations.

Managers will see agenda items, shared notes, private notes, and details from future and past meetings

Goals

Will only be visible if enabled in settings for the employee.

Goals can have milestones and be aligned with other goals to enhance accountability.

If goals have milestones, by checking off a milestone it updates the goal progress.

No reminders are needed as they are built into the system

Goals are tracked in real time for managers and employees.

Employees, managers, and admin can add new goals, view goal progress, and view past goals.

Feedback

Employees (including managers and admin) will never see their own feedback tab to maintain anonymity.

You can select a time frame and view past feedback.

AI summarized feedback will be released soon which will give a quick snapshot of feedback without you having to read through everything.

Includes upward feedback for managers and peer feedback about the employee for any period of time that’s selected.

Assessments

Employees will never see the first 2 rating questions of their assessment.

Managers and admins can toggle employee view which hides the first 2 rating questions. This is useful when meeting with the employee.

Managers can add follow-up notes at the top of the screen that will be shared with the employee which allows the manager to offer insights into strengths and constructive feedback to guide growth and improvement.

Employee and manager completed assessments are visible during the period that’s selected at the top. Manager view includes all questions, where Employee View hides the first 2 questions but shows the remaining standard and custom questions.

Use a different review cycle for each location, department, or group of employees that has a different set of questions. You can filter by

Employees will receive an email with a link to complete the survey on their mobile app, or web based browser

1:1s can only be turned on for everyone. Managers do not have to set it up. Managers will only be able to see history for existing 1:1s, they will not be able to see previous manager notes.

Employee Performance

We get a clear picture of how the employees are doing based on the two rating questions answered by the manager.

Vertical axis shows how well the employee performs and horizontal axis shows the employee’s engagement level.

Upper right side are highly valued with great engagement. Lower left are not as valued and less engaged.

Clicking an employee shows their assessment details on the right.

You can easily Show only misalignments which filters employees who answered different from their manager.

Using AI with Ask BambooHR

AI can reduce the amount of time administrators spend on administrative tasks by up to 40% and can be found in both the web app and the mobile app. It handles the routine questions that get constantly about employee data and company policies.

You can upload company documents that contain policies and procedures. to your Files tab, then those files can be added to Ask BambooHR and be referenced when employees ask questions pertaining to you company policies in addition to the HRIS data in Core.

  • What’s my vesting period for my 401K match?

  • What’s the company policy on referrals to job openings?

  • Does our company offer an in house gym?

  • What’s our company remote work policy?

  • How are merit increases decided?

Once enabled, it is available 24/7 which is great for global companies with employees in different time zones.

Provides administrators insights into chat history so you can add help guides based on what your employees are asking.

AI can translate and will respond in the language the question was asked. If the information came from a document, Ask BambooHR will include a link to the document the answer was found in.

Only takes a few minutes to set up by going to Settings > Ask BambooHR.

Employees click the Ask bambooHR button on top right corner of any page in the web or mobile app.

This tool is only as useful as the information in the system, so you have to ensure employee data and documents are accurate and up to date.

TIP: Review the log regularly and create/share a PDF FAQ document which includes questions you see in your log.

Employee Community

A stand out component in the pro package that is included in the Employee Experience suite. A healthy community culture starts with clear communication. Employee Community gives you the opportunity to boost employee engagement and communication through a centralized hub where employees can collaborate, share ideas, and celebrate achievements.

How to Enable Employee Community

It is easy to set up by going to Settings > Employee Community. Then click the Turn on Employee Community button on the top right of the screen. From there, you sync your employees, the go into Employee Community to set up groups and posts. Once ready just toggle the 2 options under Go Live to make it active for your employees.

Employee Community announcements are found on your BambooHR home page and will house all of your company wide posts that have been published for the groups that the user is subscribed to as well as important company information & announcements.

Useful for internal communication or to plan activities outside the organization

You can choose whether employees can comment on posts or whether it is strictly informational.

You will still see your What’s Happening widget for all BambooHR action items like e-signature requests, time off requests, survey links & reminders.

Past Announcements will be moved to your inbox dropdown under Sent Requests.

This is important for ensuring the right employees are getting the right information. You can create a mix of public groups that employees can join and engage on their own, or private groups for specific teams which are not available for all employees to see.

Insights

Admin and moderators can view insights into how many employees have engaged in posts and which employees confirmed they saw your posts.

Provides a quick overview to help you decide which employees would make good moderators.

Total Rewards

Used to help organizations enhance pay transparency and boost satisfaction and retention. You can quickly create Total Compensation statements for employees, providing a comprehensive view of compensation to help them understand the full value they get from their employment at your company.

Helps you paint a complete picture of compensation for each employee in an easy to read statement that is automatically generated from the information on their Employee Profile.

The statement is only as accurate as the information entered in BambooHR. It is your responsibility to ensure the data is up to date and accurate. It can provide a full view of Salary, bonuses, benefits, equity, and time off.

The employee will only see sections they have access to see. They may not be able to see the full statement. You can print the pdf to share simplified numbers with them.

An administrator decides which employees to enable this feature for, and allows you to add a custom disclaimer.

In order for the feature to ready, you will first be shown a set up checklist. You can always View Setup Guide from the top right corner.

Managers will not have access to Employee Total Reward Statements by default because some of the information could be outside of the scope of what managers have access to. Admins can Download PDF for a simplified version from the top right corner of the statement.

If Benefits are tracked in BambooHR (or BambooHR Benefits Admin), it details the employee’s benefits and the company’s annual contribution toward these benefits.

Company Calendar

The Time Off Summary informs employees about the types of paid time off available and their annual allocation.

The Holiday Summary lists all company-wide holidays as configured in your account for that employee.

Hiring

Enhancements to Core and Pro help you provide an easier and more positive experience for both the candidate and the hiring lead. The recent updates include automated emails, job pipelines, and disqualifying questions help you remove bottlenecks in the hiring process and filters only the qualified candidates.

Shows all of our job openings and teh number of candidate who have applied to each position.

Shows a list of all candidates who have applied for a role.

  • You can filter your view on the left

  • You can use the search function to find a specific employee by searching name, location, or keyword.

When searching by keyword, the results will show where thee keyword was found in their application.

Talent Pools

Allows you to add qualified candidates to relevant pools so when you hire for a position again, you can quickly see which candidates would be a good fit based on your previous experience with them.

Questions

We currently have the Advantage Plan, but as I understand it, we cannot keep Performance as an add-on if we go with Core?

  • Correct, performance is only available as part of our Pro plan.

If we already have the performance management add-on set up, will our current pre-built cycles and questions migrate over when we move to the Pro plan?

  • Your performance management cycles and questions will all be on your new Pro package. No need to create new review cycles or redo the questions that you have previously created.

If we have performance management as an add on now - will we lose that data if we don't go to PRO?

  • Nope! You will keep all of your data. You will just get some additional features like 1:1s and 360 feedback that you can enable after upgrading

Right now we have Advantage + PM. Can we go to Core + PM? We don’t really need Community as we have a robust Google workspace?

  • No. Performance Management is now only available on Pro

I have the advantage Package and pay for the performance package separately Will i still have to pay the separate fee

  • No, Performance is now a standard feature in the Pro package, there is no additional add-on price.

An you provide us with employee communication assets regarding the changes from the old plan to the new plan?

  • Check out the worksheet for this course. It will give details on what is included in each package.

Is there a detailed list of the price differences?

  • Pricing depends on a number of factors including how many employees you have. If you click the “Contact Us” button at the bottom of the learner guide for this webinar you can get in touch with a specialist who can give you specific pricing info for your company.

Is it mandatory to use pro instead of advantage?

  • The Advantage package is being phased out and all customers on the Advantage package will need to move to either Core or Pro packages.

What are components of Core?

  • Core has the new hiring features, custom tab and table builder, and Ask BambooHR. You can view a comparison of Core vs Pro from the worksheet Katie shared

We currently have a discount on our advantage package do we maintain that if we upgrade to Pro?

  • No existing discounts will carry forward, but as an Advantage user you may qualify for new discounts on Pro. If you contact your reseller partner or click the “Contact Us Today” button at the bottom of the worksheet today you can get in touch with a specialists who will share specific pricing info.

If we wish to remain on the existing package we have, can we?

  • If you are on the Advantage or Essentials Package, you will be required to move packages by May 1st. If you are on the Core or Pro packages, you can stay on those for as long as you’d like.

can we switch anytime from pro to core and vis-a-versa?

  • Yes! That is certainly an option. There is a pricing difference between the plans but you can reach out to our teams to move packages when needed.

Can we turn off certain pro features? I.e. can we hide the community if we are not ready for that, or have an alternative system in place?

  • Yes, absolutely! You can choose to enable or not enable the Pro features in the settings section of your account. Employee community does not need to enabled if you already have a current platform you are using!

Can you see a list of employee names in your review cycles with Pro?

  • The review cycle will work the same as it did if you had the Performance Management add-on to the Advantage plan. So you’re able to set up cycles by department, divison, job title, etc.

I was hoping for the ability to set up cycles based on employee name only. We have many employees with the same title reporting to different managers which makes it hard to create accurate groups. Not seeing the names also makes it difficult to see who is actually in the groups.

I wish there is an upgrade where we can select specific employees rather than groups, would this be something BHR can look into?

  • This is great feedback! I will pass this along to our Product team as they are continually working on improvements to the performance feature.

Are there updates to the performance review settings - can the length of assessment cycles be changed to not be 30 days? Can employees add follow up notes after a performance review?

  • Length of assessment cycles can’t be changed yet. Great feedback though, that’s definitely something we’re looking at. Employees and managers can add follow up notes through the new 1:1s feature, which Katie will show here

We are upgrading from Advantage to Pro. We already use Review Cycles. Are there any additional features for Review Cycles or do they behave the same in Advantage and Pro?

  • The Assessments will work in the same way as they do in the Advantage Package.The newest updates are to the feedback with custom feedback questions, 360 feedback and the 1:1 tracking

Were there any enhancements made to performance assessments?

  • Right now the assessments feature works the same as it did on the Performance Management add-on. Biggest changes are adding 1:1s and changes to feedback.

So 1-1's is only on Pro not Advantage?

  • That’s correct! 1-1’s is only on the pro package

Who can view the 1:1 data? I was told it's only the employee and leader, but this would be helpful for the BambooHR Admin/HR leaders to be able to view as well.

  • Currently 1:1 data can only be viewed by the employee and leader. A leader can also make a private note that is only viewable to themselves. Admins are not able to view 1:1 notes for the whole organization.

For the 1-1 tab is there a way for Managers and Supervisors (two tiers) to have access to this?

  • Not currently. It’s only the employee and their manager who have access to it.

Is there a limit on how many questions can be customized into the review assessments?

  • Yes, you can have up to 10 custom questions.

We also already have the perforamnce management add-on - with the fact that we are having to upgrade our package to keep the performance option will there be any improvements to this feature to what we already have (ex: improved reports, AI integration)

  • Yes, on Pro you’ll get the 1:1s feature, upward (360 degree feedback, which is the ability for direct reports to give feedback about their manager), custom feedback questions, and a lot more coming this year.

Can peer feedback questions be customized in Pro?

  • The peer feedback questions can be customized! You can use the 2 standard questions and add 3 custom questions or you can remove the 2 standard questions and create 5 custom questions!

Does 1:1’s have a spot for action items?

  • It doesn’t have a specific place for action items, but those could be included in notes / agenda items so the leader and employee can revisit those action items each time they meet.

Does the schedule for 1:1s need to be the same for all employees?

  • They do not need to be the same for all employees. The manager will choose the frequency and days that they hold 1:1’s with each of their reports.

Does the review work only downwards, or did you upgrade it to go upwards (team members review their manager)?

  • One of the new features on Pro is upward feedback! So through the feedback feature team members can give feedback on their managers.

Can goals still be set up independently from the performance review cycle?

  • The goals are not specifically tied to the review cycle so that the goal timelines can be more customized based on the appropriate timelines for each goal.

Will Pro enable Performance Management Assessments to have a 360 feature or is it only for the feedback tab?

  • Just through the feedback tab for now. Assessments are still just for the employee.

But 360 feedback can’t be included in assessements? It is something else that stands alone?

  • The 360 feedback is part of the feedback section that will happen in it’s own timeline. You can have up to 5 questions for the employee to answer about their manager and would live in the managers feedback section of the Performance tab.

Is it possible to establish company-wide goals and then effectively cascade those goals down through the organization, first to departments, then to teams, and ultimately to individuals? If so, what are some best practices or strategies for ensuring alignment and accountability at each level?

  • Great question! This is actually something we’re looking at now.. More to come :)

Can we establish a standing 1:1 agenda that is always present? Essentially specific topics we want addressed in the 1:1's?

Can managers now see employees self-assessment?

Managers can view the employee’s self-assessment after both the manager and the employee have submitted their assessments

Can EE see the reviews on Feedback? Sorry I missed this part.

  • The EE will not see their own feedback from their peers. This information would only be available to managers, admin, and custom access users. They are then able to relay that information in an appropriate way for each of their employees.

1:1s is such a useful addition … who can see this info - individual and manager only, or managers manager (assuming of course that Admins still see everything except their own feedback?)

  • Right now 1:1s is only visible to those who use it. So just the employee and their direct manager.

Can you control who all sees this tab? We wouldn't want all admin uses to see other admin user performance information. Can you assign who all sees the performance information, by employee/role?

  • By default all Full Admin users and the Account Owner will see the Performance Management Tab.

Will the Dates allow to conduct 1 off assessments. Currently it is Fixed (3,6,12) or By Hire Date?

  • Yes, you can do impromtu (or 1 off) assessments!

When would 1:1 be visible to admins to turn on for org?

  • Admins can decide of they want to enable 1:1s for their org. After an admin has flipped the switch from settings to turn it on, it’s then just the employee and their manager who can view their own 1:1 section.

How is the view or experience on the mobile app side for perf mgt?

  • Employees can view and edit Goals, complete and view Assessments, and complete Feedback in the mobile app.

Just curious, we currently have the Advantage package and moving to the Pro package automatically - is this because the Advantage package is being phased out? Thank you!

  • We are moving to new plan structures to help bring the most value and time saving features to you. The Core and Pro plans are our two current plans that we are upgrading everyone to. You can learn more about the differences in the plans here: https://help.bamboohr.com/s/article/943699

Are there any updates to onboarding / offboarding configuration in Pro? We want to be able to create task lists for staff changes

  • Onboarding / offboarding works the same on Advantage, Core, and Pro. No changes across those palns. Good to know on the task lists though, thank you!

Please set up customized assessment window length. It is too long for our organization and causes a lot of confusion when we have to communicate a due date sooner than BambooHR says.

Is there a reason why we weren't given the option to go to Core instead of PRO?

  • There are features within our Pro package that are not availabe in the Core package (such as Performance Management and Employee Community), if you currently have these features that could be why you were reccomended to move to the Pro package. Will AskHR be able to summarize Assessment answers, like it will with Feedback?

  • Not yet. It summarizes any files (like an employee handbook) you have uploaded, and employee info. Love this idea though.

I don’t see 1:1s as an admin now? So is that effective now? Or May 1?

  • The 1:1’s are only available on the Pro package so you will have access as soon as you upgrade to Pro. You are able to upgrade prior to May 1 if you want to being using these new features!

I have been trying to print out a performance review but I can't find out how to do that.

  • There isn’t a specific print button in BambooHR, so you’d need to capture your screen or use your keyboard print shortcut to print an assessment.

Will Ask BambooHR give us Canadian info?

  • It will give answers based on the data that is in your account. So it will give answers based on the asker’s personal information or any documents you have set up for Ask BambooHR to use. So it can give information based on a variety of location if you have those documented.

Can Ask Bamboo be filtered to different countries?

  • Ask BambooHR has to be turned on for all employees and cannot be filtered to individual locations, but will be based on the employee’s information

Not sure if this was covered but does the pro package include the time tracking feature for hourly employees?

  • Time Tracking will continue to be an add-on feature and will not be part of the Pro package.

For Ask BambooHR, can we keep them from being able to ask questions about PTO?

  • Ask BambooHR is designed to pull answers from the information available in your BambooHR account based on users’ access levels. In other words, if you want to prevent employees from receiving answers about PTO through Ask BambooHR, one way to do this is to limit or remove their access to PTO-related information in your account settings.

  • Keep in mind that Ask BambooHR draws on what employees are already permitted to view in BambooHR. If their user access level doesn’t include detailed PTO information, then Ask BambooHR should naturally not display those details. In addition, if there’s a need to further restrict content, you might work with a BambooHR Support Hero to check if there are configuration options or custom permissions that can be applied to the Ask BambooHR conversation topics.

So if we only use the PTO tab to request time off, and not for accruals or balances, what would it tell them if they asked for their PTO balance? They "should" know that it isn't maintained in BambooHR, but it might not stop them from asking

  • If you’re using the PTO tab solely for time off requests and not tracking accruals or balances in BambooHR, then when an employee asks about their PTO balance, Ask BambooHR won’t be able to pull a number from BambooHR’s records. In that scenario, the system may respond with a default answer such as "There is no PTO balance information maintained in BambooHR," or it might not return any balance data at all. You would just want to make sure employees know that while BambooHR is being used to request Time Off, the actual accruals and balances are managed externally.

Does the admin have access to all chat logs for all employees?

Will it be possible to add a widget to the main dashboard for 1:1s? so that managers can easily see what they have coming up?

You will already see this information on your Team widget.

Can the employee see the 1:1 notes?

  • On the 1:1 tab, there will be a section for both the manager and employee to take notes. These notes are visible to both the manager and employee. For the AI feature, we have different policies for employees and managers, as some of the information is confidential to managers how can AI determine who should have access to what information?

  • When you add in the documents to the AskBambooHR section you will be able to select who should have access to get answers from those documents. This way an employee would not be able to get answers to questions they should not have access to.

Can the Ask BambooHR feature reference different documents for different employee groups, such as employees in different companies?

  • Ask BambooHR will follow specific access to documents. It will only give answers based on documents that employees/managers have access to. So if an employee has access to one group of documents then they would only get answers based on those documents.

How does ask bamboo work with different HR policies in different Countries?

  • Ask BambooHR will follow access rules for specific documents so employees and managers will only get answers from documents that they have access to in BambooHR.

For international organizations users, can we customize the Benefits information/answers?

RE Ask BambooHR, does it has the ability to distinguish same topic between two different country policies? For example, can it distinguish and provide the right source for an employee in Canada a question about their benefits vs an employee in the US?

  • Employees will only receive answers and info from files that they have access to. So if an employee is in Canada, you’d give them access to a file with just the Canadian policy and they’d only get answers from that.

I assume the answers given to certain questions when using Ask BabmooHR are limited to the users permissions. Is that correct?

  • That is correct, the user will only get information that they have access to based on the permissions that you have set up.

Our company has the pro package, but none of these updates show in our bamboo HR ( the 1-1 in performance, or the Ask bambooHR files) .

  • You’ll first need to go to settings to activate them. Do you see the tab for Ask BambooHR and Performance when you click the gear icon in the top right corner of your BambooHR account? Under performance, there’s a tab for 1:1s to activate it.

Are there templates available to introduce these new features to employees?

Does the AI works if the settings and documents are written in French?

  • Yes! It’ll respond in the same language the employee uses in their question as well.

What types of files can you add (word / pdf/ ppt)?

Just PDFs

Is the AI assistant guaranteed not to hallucinate like ChatGPT or other models?

  • Not sure if I know exactly what you mean when you say hallucinate, but as with all AI models I’d recommend having employees use it as a guide to help them. This has more info on our AI principles that could help BambooHR’s AI Development Principles

And can Ask BHR be integrated with Slack?

  • Yes, Ask BambooHR does integrate within slack!

In Slack, is the BambooHR channel private to just the individual or shared by multiple employees? That is, if I put in a query, is that visible to anyone else?

  • It depends on how you’ve set the channel up in Slack. If it’s a private channel then only the employees in that channel would see it.

Can the Company Feed integrate with Slack i.e. send updates to a specific Slack channel?

In the Ask feature, can we specify certain documents for certain locations? For example, if someone is asking what medical carrier we use, the answer would be different for our U.S. employees vs our Swiss employees

  • That isn’t currently available possible in the system. However if an employee were to ask a question about a piece of company policy that is different based on location. The AI typically responds with both policies clearly segmented by which country it applies to. You can also test this in the preview before launching Ask BambooHR to your whole organization.

Thanks so if an employee asks in the chat "who is my private medical provider"? and the employee is based in UK so answer is vitality but they are actually based in Ireland so it is a different company - what answer will it give the employee? Can we set pre-determined filter Q's such as "Thanks for your enquiry - which Country are you located?"

What additional benefits does Employee Community have for companies already heavily using Slack?

Employee Community is a great place to store your more important information and announcements that you don’t want to get buried in slack. Slack will still be your main instant messenger but you can use Employee Community to house important posts/data for easy access for your employees.

Is community available on app?

  • Yes, Employee Community is available within the BambooHR mobile app.

In community... for planned events.... can people just select a choice of attending, not attending, we we can get a count of attendees summarized in the tool without having to send email back and forth?

  • Currently, our Employee Community Events feature mainly serves as a platform to announce and display event details. It doesn’t have a built‐in RSVP functionality that lets employees simply choose “attending” or “not attending” with a real-time summary count.

  • That said, many customers work around this limitation by including links to external RSVP forms or short surveys in their event posts. This creates a streamlined way to gather attendance data without having to manage back‐and‐forth email replies. You could, for example, embed a simple Google Form into your event post to capture responses, or use an add-on survey tool that integrates with BambooHR.

If Employee Community is turned on, will the employees/managers still receive emails from Bamboo when it's an employee's birthday or work anniversary?

  • Yes! Employee Community will not affect the email alerts you already have set up in your account.

Do employees get an email from Bamboo when something is posted to a group that they below to in Employee Community or will it only show in BambooHR?

  • By default, employees don’t automatically receive an email notification for every post in Employee Community groups unless the post is marked as an announcement or the group’s settings are configured to send notifications. For regular group posts, the message appears in the BambooHR Employee Community feed, and email notifications will only be sent if the group’s notification settings have been enabled or if an admin creates an announcement that includes email alerts.

  • In short, unless you’ve set up notifications for that specific group, employees will only see new posts when they access BambooHR and check the Employee Community feed.

Can Ask BambooHR be integrated with Microsoft teams?

Is there a way to test the responses that Ask BambooHR will give before it's live to the employees?

  • You can test the questions beforehand.

  • However, the "Conversation Log" will keep track of all questions asked and can help you identify questions and answers of interest!

So, is BambooHR moving towards phasing out "Announcements" in favor of "Employee Community"?

  • Employee Community is only available on the Pro package to help provide more functionality when it comes to announcements. Core package users will continue to use the Announcements feature.

What options are available for Employee Community to isolate posts, etc., is it only by dept, division, status, location like other announcements in Bamboo?

  • When publishing a post you can select the group or topic that you'd like to post to. And you have the ability to create these different groups within employee community (by adding employees by name, department, or location).

Can we control what is posted in the company feed? i.e. what if we don't want certain information posted?

  • You will have the flexibility to choose if everyone can post to specific groups or if only moderators/admin can post. This should help to make sure that there is more control over what is being posted to these groups. I would reccomend in a company feed that only moderators and admin can post to that. Then it will come down to setting the correct expectations with the moderators and admin.

Will Admins have the ability to remove posts in the Employee Community they deem inappropriate?

  • You can setup admin and moderator access inside of Employee Community and those individuals will have the option to remove any posts they wish.

 

Does BambooHR automatically populate the most updated U.S. State tax forms for us to choose from for onboarding docs? Or is that on us to ensure they're up to date? My previous company's onboarding HRIS (Namely) made sure that only the most recent/revised tax forms were available to us to choose for onboarding docs.

  • We do not automatically populate state tax forms for payroll. This is something that you would need to keep updated but our Payroll support is always happy to help answer questions and help guide you in this area! They are experts in all things payroll!

Will multiple announcements still be stored with this upgrade? If so, where will older announcements be stored for employees to access the information?

  • Yes posts/announcements shared in Employee Community are evergreen, so an employee could go back and view them.

can you give access to post announcements to only certain employees, with no access to other employee information?

  • You can choose whether everyone can post to the group or if you want it to be limited to moderators and admin which are designated for each group in employee community.

 

Is total rewards an add on or part of the BHR pro package?

  • Total Rewards is included in both the Core and Pro packages.

Is Total Rewards useful if we don't use Bamboo for payroll?

  • Yes! So long as the appropriate tables are kept up to date, Total rewards is a great way to show the value you’re giving to each of your employees.

If we don’t use Bamboo’s Payroll or Benefits packages, can we manually add information about these into Bamboo so that it shows up on their Total Rewards statement?

  • You can! You will be able to update the bonus, commission, compensation, benefits, and equity manually and it would all populate into the total rewards!

  • Total Rewards will pull information from the Job Tab and Benefits Tab. The Job Tab holds tables such as the compensation table, equity table, bonus table, etc. These tables can be used for the Total Rewards Feature. To include benefit information in Total Rewards, make sure that your employees are enrolled in their benefits plans in Bamboo. Benefits Tracking (not Benefit Administration) is all that is required to include benefit information in the Total Rewards feature.

Is total rewards tied to payroll at all? Our team inputs bonus info into payroll but not on an employees job tab. Would it still show up?

  • Total rewards pulls information from the employee’s Job tab, not Payroll. Since there are so many types of extra pay possible in Payroll, it’s doesn’t work well to pull into Total rewards.

Is total rewards only available in the US or Canada and the UK too in the Pro?

  • The Total Rewards are available to all customers and will update to the currency that each employee uses in their profile.

Does Total Rewards also include stipends?

  • Yes you can add stipends to Total Rewards

Where does the comp history come from?

  • The compensation history comes from the information inputted in the compensation table. The compensation table can be found on the Job Tab of the employee profile.

Is there a peer to peer feedback that is initiated by the peer instead of the manager?

  • Not currently. It’s initiated by the manager.

Does the Pro package offer merit and bonus processing?

  • I’m not sure what you mean by processing. To actually pay bonuses out that would be done through our payroll feature (not part of Pro). There’s currently no compensation planning features in Pro.

If we only want certain employees to have their total compensation statement pulled (ex. no Executives), is there a way to set this up or filter it?

  • Yes, you are able to select which employees you would like to receive Total Rewards statements.

Does the Pro Package have a benefits enrollment option with integration to benefit carriers?

  • The benefits administration feature is an add on that can be added on to either the Core or Pro packages. I would be happy to connect you with our expansion team who can do a demo and give you pricing!

What's the next package up from Pro - is it Elite? How can we get a preview of that?

Is the Total Rewards area viewable by the employee? Or only HR and their manager?

  • Yep, viewable by the employee. You can choose who specifically you want to create a statement for, too. So you could do the whole company or only specific employees.

  • It will just show eligible. Right now it’s only pulling hours from what’s set up in the time off section

Have you fixed the fact that managers cant see their direct reports public holidays in the who's out calendar if they are based in another country? Currently only the people in that country can see them.... this is the most manually laborious task for us as a remote based company

  • As long as you set up the disqualifying question and automated email, it will get sent out automatically.

  • Yes, with the new Pro package, you do have the ability to create your own custom tabs and custom tables.

  • The documents used by Ask BambooHR are tied to the Files tab. You can set access permissions for certain files, and Ask BambooHR will only surface information that the employee has access to view. How does Ask bamboo HR algin files and documents to different countries, IE different sickness policies

  • If you have access permissions set on certain files, employees will receive answers that are specific to the files they have access to view. Whenever an employee asks a question in Ask BambooHR, the system will check their permissions and will only provide answers from documents that the employee has access to.

Does your AI use our policy documents for its training & learning? Will the information within our policy documents remain confidential?

  • No, BambooHR does not use any customer data to train proprietary or third-party artificial intelligence models.

Can we see who has viewed the post?

  • Currently, while the Employee Community shows content such as comments and likes on posts, BambooHR does not provide a way to see a list of which individuals have viewed a specific post. Essentially, while you can see how many views a post has received, the identities of those viewers remain anonymous.

Will the new package allow employees sharing of birthdays to be opt in rather than opt out?

  • As BambooHR is currently configured, birthdays are shared by default, with an option for users to hide their birthday if they prefer not to display it. There is no built‐in way to have birthday sharing be opt in instead of opt out on the Pro plan. In other words, employees must actively choose to hide their birthday rather than opt in to share it.

Are employees notified by email only for Announcements on Employee Community?

  • They can get both a notification in their BambooHR Employee Community widget and an email as well depending on how they set up their notifications in Account Settings. If they have notifications set up on their mobile app, they will also get a notification on their phone.

Is there a way to create a custom survey or questionnaire to assign to a single employee with custom questions? For example, for an exit interview for a departing employee or a stay interview for a recent hire?

Can Total Rewards be customized to include gym memberships?

  • Yes, you can customize what is included by adding gym memberships to your Benefits section. You do not need the Benefits Admin feature to do this. Go to your Benefits Settings and create your new plan. You can use reimbursement or other as your type, depending on how it is structured. Anything set up and assigned to the employee will show up on their Total Rewards statement.

Where does compensation history come from?

  • A lot of the Compensation information comes from the employee’s job tab. The Compensation table includes the history.

  • The standard Commissions, Equity, and Bonus tables are also included if applicable.
